She was raped at gunpoint in the middle of the night in her apartment in Clinton, Iowa, in 2009. A few weeks later, the same perpetrator attacked Kelly’s friend, murdering her and her two-year-old son. Kelly went on to earn her master’s degree and now is a sexual assault therapist for SafePath and speaker for RAINN, the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network. She will present “Learning to Live Again: A story of rebuilding after rape.”
